Dedicated to my brother Dr. João Ramos
This work is based on the concept of our own DNA, more specifically on the constant multiplication and division of the cells that make our bodies a living organism. The very initial idea of the behaviour of cells also led me to arrange this disposition differently from what we are used to seeing and hearing in order to give a rather different experience to the audience and better portray the concept in mind. The very natural division of cells leads to the division of the orchestra in itself.
Written in 2015 as part of my Undergraduate Degree in Music — Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (PT).
