I wrote this piece for the Das Tripas Coração Project by the Cat’s Cradle Collective Ensemble, where I had to create an imaginative new work based on a piece of Portuguese traditional music. Hence, with the melody of Lá vai uma, Lá vão duas as my point of departure, I sought to intuitively inform my composition and orchestration approach from my experience working with electronic music and technology. This work served as a major step in the pursuit of electronic-informed orchestration practices as seen in my other works.
Written in 2020 as part of my Doctor in Music — Composition at the Royal College of Music, London (EN). With the support of The ACTOR Project (CAN); Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (PT) & Royal College of Music (EN).
