In Nuances is where all my research in the realm of electronic-informed orchestration and computer-assisted orchestration gathered for the past years collides. Here, intuition is aided with the use of computer software while also shedding light on notation and performance exploration with the use of semi-open form and instructions. These, nonetheless, refer to terminology and practices often used in the studio. Here, acoustic instruments are just another set of oscillators in a soundworld that blurs everything that is acoustic and everything that is electronic.

Written between 2020/2022 as part of my Doctor in Music — Composition at the Royal College of Music, London (PT). With the support of The ACTOR Project (CAN); Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (PT); Leões de Portugal (PT); Royal College of Music London (EN), Foundation for Science and Technology (PT) and Royal Music Association (UK).
